HANA POUTER PIGEON <div id="idTab1" class="rte"> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Origin</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong></strong>The Hana Pouter has originated in Czechoslovakia.  A cross between the Pomeranian and English Pouters and the Moravian Strassers, this bird acquires its name from the fact that it was developed in the plains of Hana in Moravia. This development occurredduring the second half of the nineteenth century.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong><br /></strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Breed</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Having a lively and graceful impression, this pouterpigeon is always plain headed and has tight-fitting feathering. The distinct features of the breed are its large muffs and a pear-shaped globe.The Hana Pouter is large sized pigeon weighing about 20-22 ounces and having stately, upright form.</span></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 10pt;">Head</strong></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 10pt;"></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The head is large and well-rounded with a full forehead.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt;"> </span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Eyes and Beak</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The eyes are orange to red in color. The ceres are fine, smooth and may be light red or dark colored. The beak is well formed and the same color as the feathering.</span></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 10pt;">Neck and Globe</strong></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The Hana Pouter has a long and well-formed neck. A large, well inflated, pear-shaped globe is present on the throat.</span></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 10pt;">Breast</strong></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The breast is of medium width, forming a nice waist where the lower crop meets the body.</span></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 10pt;">Back</strong></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The back is proportional to the width of the breast. It slopes downward and has a good back cover.</span></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 10pt;">Wings and Tail</strong></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">This pigeon has long, wide, and tightly closed wings, and a long, narrow tail that does not touch the ground.</span></p> <p><strong style="font-size: 10pt;">Legs and Feet</strong></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The legs are long, straight, and narrowly placed with well-developed muffs and hock feathers.
